Katie Annice Carr is an author and educator whose work helps people navigate change – from sea‑kayaking the Shipping Forecast to leading oneself and teams through everyday storms.
Katie writes narrative non‑fiction/ memoir about sea, family and second chances, including Thundery at Times (Summersdale/Hachette, 2026) and Moderate Becoming Good Later (Summersdale/Hachette, 2023). Her events weave readings, images and sound with conversations about grief, resilience and the small moments that keep people going.
Katie has spent more than a decade focused on leadership training and coaching, working with executives and teams across sectors. She is a lecturer in leadership and communication at ESADE Business School and runs her own consultancy, Step Up Create, which designs and delivers programmes directly for organisations.
Katie works with leaders, creatives and people who want to reshape how they live and work in a way that feels more truthful and sustainable. Coaching is a core part of her practice: she is an ICF PCC‑credentialed, CTI‑trained Co‑Active coach with over ten years’ experience, informed by training in transdisciplinary art therapy and Gestalt therapy.
For leaders and managers navigating new roles, complex teams or strategic change, focused on leadership presence, communication and resilience.
For people at a crossroads – career shifts, midlife change, after loss – who want clarity, steadier self‑leadership and next steps that feel honest.
For writers who want structure, accountability and a thinking partner on story, scope and voice.
Katie works at the intersection of story, leadership and creativity. If you’re curious about inviting her to speak or teach, working together as a coach, or hosting a book event or retreat, the easiest step is simply to start a conversation.
